"Wings of Hope" to Sponsor a Memorial Butterfly Release for Molly Bish The International Butterfly Breeders' Association (IBBA, Inc.) Wings of Hope Program is sponsoring a Memorial Butterfly Release for Molly Bish which will take place on August 2, 2003 in Warren, Massachusetts. Molly Bish was abducted on June 27, 2000 from Comins Pond in Warren, Massachusetts where she worked as a lifeguard. Molly was 16 years old at the time of her abduction. The search for Molly came to a painful end recently when her remains were found in Palmer, Massachusetts, just five miles from the pond where she was abducted and her family's home. The Wings of Hope Program was established by the IBBA, Inc. to provide healing, hope and encouragement to people who have encountered difficult life circumstances. Many dozens of butterflies and funds for this memorial release have been donated by butterfly farmers who are members of the IBBA, Inc. Anyone wishing to donate butterflies for this farewell to Molly can contact the Wings of Hope Program Coordinator, Melanie McCarthy at 413 599 1285, e mail: monarchy@themonarchy.com; the Director of the Wings of Hope Program, Amy Atwood at: amyatwood@comcast.net or visit the website of the International Butterfly Breeders Association: http://www.butterflybreeders.org. or The Molly Bish Foundation website: http://www.mollybish.org. Information on obtaining butterflies will be listed on those sites. The IBBA is an international, non-profit, membership-based trade association promoting high standards of ethics, competence and professionalism in the breeding of quality lepidoptera for all purposes. We accomplish this through research, grower education, market development, and habitat conservation and restoration. - end - |
