The Migration Celebration! October 16 - 19, 2003 The 2003 International Butterfly Breeder's Association (IBBA) annual convention is being held at: DFW Hyatt Regency Ask for the IBBA block of rooms, special rate of $99/single; $129/double. The convention is being held in conjunction with the City of Grapevine's annual Flutter-By Butterfly Festival. Details are provided here: www.grapevinetexasusa.com, and inside the click-bars below. The convention and festival offer attendees a unique opportunity for learning, networking with other butterfly farmers, having loads of fun and attending the Flutter-By Festival with its great lineup of events. Rick Mikula -- Special Master of Ceremonies. Rick is worth the registration fee alone -- come and meet him, reacquaint yourselves with him and learn what passion for butterflies is all about! Dr. Wayne Wehling Meet with the USDA's permitting authority and learn about permit requirements, regulations, penalties and violations. Dr. Wehling has agreed to give us a special treat and talk to us about his favorite butterfly -- The Swallowtail! Dale Clark President of the Dallas County Lepidopterists Society and long-time butterfly raiser is giving us TWO presentations! Dale will talk about how he uses his backyard as a butterfly smorgasbord – attracting the butterflies desired with specific plants. Dale will also teach us about the Texas and Florida Zebra Longwing butterflies! Learn the specifics of these two distinctly different butterflies and stay legal using them in your business! Gary Geer Demonstration on assembling your own Fog Transducer! Edith Smith and Jenn Temen Edith and Jenn will teach us about applying for, and working with, grants. Amy Atwood Amy will be bringing us up to date on Wings of Hope projects for 2003. Newbie-Oldie Q&A Sessions! We have created special table groupings comprised of butterfly breeders with all levels of experience where questions about raising butterflies can be asked and answered by "rotating" farmers. This mix-up will be a real comfortable way to get to know other butterfly farmers and have your questions answered in a very relaxed setting!
